That’s why we’re proud to introduce PGL & Regatta’s Hero Awards, in partnership with Regatta, to celebrate remarkable individuals who go above and beyond for their communities.

Say “Thank You” in a Big Way

PGL & Regatta’s Hero Awards shine a light on everyday heroes making a real impact. Together, we’ll be rewarding each winner a certificate, 3 night Kids’ Camp or Family Break, a Regatta voucher and the recognition they truly deserve.

The Young Hero Award Icon

The Young Hero

This award recognises a young person aged 8-16, who has gone above and beyond in their community. The winner will receive: a 3 night PGL Kids’ Camp for two and a £100 Regatta voucher.

The Education Hero Award Icon

The Education Hero

This award recognises an educator who goes above and beyond to support young people. The winner will receive: a 3‑night PGL Family Adventure for four and a £250 Regatta voucher.

This award recognises a youth group leader or volunteer who contributes and supports your community. The winner will receive: a 3‑night PGL Family Adventure for four and a £250 Regatta voucher.

This award recognises a family member who makes a meaningful difference within the family. The winner will receive: a 3‑night PGL Family Adventure for four and a £250 Regatta voucher as a thank you for all they do.

Who can be nominated?

The Young Hero Award is open to young people aged 8–16 who have made a positive impact on others or shown growth, determination or resilience. They don’t need to have attended a PGL Kids’ Camp – we’re celebrating stories that show the power of confidence, challenge and stepping forward.

The Education Hero Award is open to people aged 18+ who work in the education industry and have gone above and beyond to encourage, motivate or positively impact young people. They don’t need to have taken part in a PGL residential – we’re celebrating stories that show the power of supporting others and helping young people flourish.

The Community Hero Award is open to youth group leaders or volunteers aged 16 and above who work with young people and make a difference everyday. They must be working within their role at the time of nomination to be eligible.

The Family Hero Award is open to anyone you consider as family – be it a child, teen, adult, friend or grandparent – who makes a meaningful difference at home or within the family everyday.

FAQs

Who can submit a nomination?

Anyone over the age of 18 who has seen someone make a real difference can nominate. This could be a colleague, parent, youth worker, community leader or someone who’s simply witnessed a moment where the nominee has supported, inspired or lifted up others through adventure or challenge.

When do nominations close?

Nominations close on Sunday 31 May 2026 however we suggest submitting your nomination as soon as you can. A short, honest nomination is all that’s needed.  

How do I nominate someone?

Please complete the form which has everything you need to submit a strong nomination. We will ask you more on who you’re nominating and how their actions have made a difference to you or your community.

Can I nominate more than one person?

Of course! If more than one person has made a huge impact, you’re welcome to submit multiple nominations in separate form submissions. Just make sure each nomination focuses on one individual and their story.

What happens after nominations close?

All nominations will be reviewed by a judging panel at PGL Beyond. PGL will select one winner from each of the four categories and all nominators will be contacted via email by an official PGL representative about the next steps.

What will the winners receive?

The Young Hero Award winner will receive a 3‑night PGL Kids’ Camp for two (the nominee and a friend) and a £100 Regatta voucher for the winner.

The Education Hero Award winner will receive a 3‑night PGL UK Family Adventure for four and a £250 Regatta voucher.

The Community Group Hero Award winner will be awarded a 3‑night PGL UK Family Adventure for four and a £250 Regatta voucher.

The Family Hero Award winner will be gifted a 3‑night PGL UK Family Adventure for four and a £250 Regatta voucher.

Are nominations confidential?

Yes. All nominations are handled sensitively. The person you nominate won’t be contacted unless they are shortlisted, and no information will be shared without the right permissions.

PGL & Regatta Hero Awards Terms and Conditions

  1. Promoter

The promoter is PGL Travel Limited (“PGL“), in partnership with Regatta Great Outdoors (“Regatta“). The Prize Draws (as defined below) shall be administered by PGL and the prizes shall be supplied by PGL and Regatta.

  1. Nomination Requirements

By submitting a nomination for the PGL & Regatta Hero Awards, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

  1. Who Can Nominate
  • Nominations are open to individuals aged 18 or over.
  • Nominators must be resident in the United Kingdom.
  • Self-nominations are not permitted; you must nominate someone other than yourself.
  1. How to Nominate
  • To enter, complete the official online nomination form in full during the nomination period.
  • Only correctly completed and submitted forms will be considered.
  • No purchase or payment is required to enter.
  1. Nomination Period
  • Nominations will open on Wednesday 6 May.
  • Nominations will close on Sunday 31 May (inclusive of).
  • Entries submitted outside of this period will not be accepted.
  1. Winner Selection
  • All eligible nominations will be reviewed by a judging panel made up of representatives from PGL Beyond.
  • Winners will be selected based on the quality and merit of the nomination and its alignment with the spirit and values of the Hero Awards.
  • Winners will be asked to provide images of the winner and consent to sharing their story across PGL channels.
  1. General
  • By entering, nominators confirm that the information provided is accurate and truthful to the best of their knowledge.
  • PGL reserves the right to disqualify any nomination that does not comply with these Terms & Conditions.
  • Personal data will be processed in accordance with PGL’s Privacy Policy.
  1. Prize Draws and Prizes
  • Four winners will receive a PGL & Regatta Hero Award prize, as detailed in the campaign communications.
  • Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, and no cash alternative is available.
  • PGL and Regatta reserve the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if necessary.

1 x Kids’ Camps Prize Draw

  • There is 1 prize consisting of a 3-night Multi-Activity Kids’ Adventure Camp for two children aged 8 to 16 years old.

3 x Family Breaks Prize Draw

  • There are 3 prizes each consisting of a 3-night UK Family Adventure break, for three families of up to 4 (must include 1 adult and 1 child (aged 16 or under).

Prizes above cannot be taken during the month of July. Travel until Easter 2027. Subject to availability.

  1. Entry and Eligibility
  • The Prize Draws start on 6 May 2026 and closes at 11.59pm on 31 May 2026 (Draw Date). After this date no further entries to the Prize Draws will be permitted. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  • The Prize Draws are free to enter and no purchase is necessary. Entries to the Prize Draws are online-only.
  • Nominations will open on Wednesday 6 May. Nominations will close on Sunday 31 May. Entries submitted outside of this period will not be accepted.
  • Nominations are open to individuals aged 18 or over. Nominators must be resident in the United Kingdom. Self-nominations are not permitted; you must nominate someone other than yourself.
  • Entries must be submitted via the form available on co.uk/hero-awards. Entrants must complete the relevant entry form with their full name, email address and postcode.
  • Open to all UK residents aged 18+ excluding directors or employees (or their immediate families) of (i) Regatta, (ii) PGL, (iii) any suppliers of goods or services to PGL in respect of this prize draw, or (iv) Regatta’s advertising or promotion agencies.
  • Entries may be made by the same person where they are eligible in each of the 3 categories (for example a parent who is a teacher and is also a Scout Group Leader could nominate someone to win a Kids’ Camp or Family Break).
  • The Prize Draws and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.9. Awards of prizes
  • The winners of each Prize Draw will be selected by a judging panel at PGL all eligible entries received. Winners will be selected based on the quality and merit of the nomination and its alignment with the spirit and values of the Hero Awards.
  • The winner will be notified via email within 7 days of the Draw Date. The winner must respond within 14 days of being notified to claim their prize. If the winner does not respond, their prize will be forfeited and the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner in accordance with the process described above.
  • The prizes are supplied by PGL and Regatta. The Promoter reserves the right to replace any prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond its control makes it necessary to do so.
  • Entrants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
  • Each prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  • Travel arrangements and costs to the relevant PGL Centre do not form part of the prize and are the responsibility of the Prize Draw winners.
  • All prizes are provided by PGL and include accommodation, meals and activities.
  • Any personal expenses incurred during the stay will be the responsibility of the attendees.
  • Each prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  • All prizes are subject to PGL’s general terms and conditions, which can be viewed online at Booking terms and conditions | PGL Adventures for Kids’ Camps, PGL Family Adventures – Booking terms and conditions for Family Breaks or provided on request.
  1. Data Protection
  • Personal data supplied to the Promoter from Prize Draw entries will be processed for the purpose of administering the Prize Draws, in line with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
  • By entering, nominators confirm that the information provided is accurate and truthful to the best of their knowledge.
  • PGL will process personal data of prize winners, those who expressly opt in to receive marketing communications from PGL as set out in the PGL Privacy Policy.
  • The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this the Promoter will send prize winners’ surname and county to anyone who emails [email protected] within one month after the Draw Date. If you object to this, please contact the Promoter at [email protected]. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
