A Typical Day at PGL
Activities
On a Netball weekend we will be running a selection of our favourite multi-activities for your group to enjoy when not on the court, this based on a queue-and-do basis. Not all activities we offer on the centre will be operational but we’ll ensure a varied choice is available.
All Aboard
All aboard is all about building trust and strengthening peer relationships – at the top of a 6 metre pole! Teams of up to four pupils scale the pole to reach the small platform at the top. Balancing on the platform becomes more difficult as more team members arrive to share the space. The challenge is to cooperate and support each other. The task is complete when all four team members successfully stand together at the top of the pole. Weight limit: 150kg
High Ropes Course
The high ropes activity is designed to help your pupils improve levels of trust and co-operation amongst themselves. Essentially it’s an individual challenge course involving balance, passing obstacles and holding your nerve, because the whole event takes place 12 metres (40 feet) above the ground. The encouragement that comes from the rest of the group can make all the difference to their success – so the challenge is ideal for promoting teamwork and the value of mutual support. Weight limit: 150kg
Tunnel Trail
On their own or in small groups, your pupils can discover a series of underground tunnels. The tunnels vary in size and they have various tasks to carry out during their exploration. Completing the tasks will improve pupils’ self-confidence, problem-solving skills and teamwork. Please note this activity will only be available between May and September at some centres due to weather.
Laser Tag
The wide-open landscapes at our adventure centres offer the ultimate backdrop to a team laser tag battle. Working in teams, your group will head off equipped with their own laser tagger and vest. They'll develop team tactics, communication skills, and a steady hand as they duel to come out the triumphant team!

Netball Tournament FAQs
How are the teams sorted and grouped?
Six weeks prior to the tournament we will send you a form to complete where you can provide us with more information regarding your teams, such as year group, ability and frequency of play, this will then be used to create pools for the tournament.
Pools/Groups:
Pools are created based on year groups however, to ensure the best possible exposure to more teams from multiple groups/teams, we can often mix adjacent age groups, but will consider frequency of play and playing levels when mixing age groups. If there are a large number of teams in one age group we may split these into two pools based on ability.
How does the tournament work?
All teams will play 6 games in the rounds, then the top 4 teams will advance to the knock out stages and final. Games times are 5 or 6 minutes each way with a minute half time and will ensure that there is always a minimum of a one game gap between games for every team.
Programmes:
A provisional tournament will be sent out a week prior to the event and a final version will be confirmed on arrival on centre.
What activities will our team be doing during school netball trips?
Can I mix year groups within teams?
When will our games be played?
How many schools will we play?
When will the tournament finish?
For those teams that do not make the finals, you are of course welcome to depart earlier on the Sunday, however we are not able to amend the tournament timings or meal time to permit an earlier departure.
