Ready for a weekend adventure with your scouts? You’re in for a real treat! But first, here’s everything your group needs to pack in their scout weekend bag. They’ll be trying out lots of different activities, so it’s important that you’re all prepared with the right clothing and everything else. The weather doesn’t stop us from enjoying the great outdoors, so whether the sun is shining or the rain is tumbling down, your scouts need to be ready!
Clothing
Your scouts will be doing a lot of adventuring, exploring and playing, so let’s make sure they bring everything they need! First off is t-shirts. We suggest they bring a range of t-shirts, since they’ll need some for activities and for the evening too! Then there’s trousers or leggings, mainly for use during the day’s activities so make sure they’re allowed to get dirty. Some shorts might be a good idea too!
Don’t forget underwear and socks. Like we said, at PGL your scouts will be completing watersports activities and more so making sure they have extra clean and dry clothes in their scout weekend bag to change back into is essential! For the evening’s indoor activities (and maybe even a disco) perhaps people would like to dress to impress. Well, we advise that guests bring a couple of sets of clothes for the evenings! And last but not least, some nightwear.
- T-shirts (short & long sleeved)
- Trousers
- Leggings
- Tracksuit bottoms
- Underwear
- Socks
- Evening clothes (jeans, t-shirt, shorts etc.)
- Pyjamas
Footwear
This one is nice and simple! One pair for our classic activities, one pair for watersports, and a final pair for indoor evening activities. Make sure your scouts are happy with getting their activity footwear a bit muddy and wet. The footwear for evening activities should be a pair they’d like to keep clean and dry.
- 2 pairs of trainers (activities & watersports)
- 1 pair of dry shoes for the evening
Other items
There are a few other little things that we think would be worth bringing too. A couple of towels for drying off after activities and for showering, a reusable drinks bottle to stay hydrated, and a washbag with toiletries in. Unless your group are told otherwise, it’s best to bring a sleeping bag/duvet and a pillow. Here’s a list to make it easier for your young scouts!
- 2 Towels
- Reusable drinks bottle
- Rucksack/bag
- Bin bag for wet and dirty clothing
- Sleeping bag/Duvet
- Pillow
- Washbag
- Soap
- Shampoo
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
