We run a large variety of different Kids Camps programmes. Please speak to your Business Development Manager or Coordinator for more details.

  • Builds your child’s confidence
  • Develops independence

  • Opportunity to learn new skills

What age groups do you cater for on your Kid's Camps?

We cater for children aged 8 to 16. At our residential summer camps, your children will be grouped into age ranges so they can have the best camp experience:

8-11 year olds

Our Kid’s camps designed for 8-11-year-olds are all about creating fun memories, building confidence and introducing all-important independence skills before your child makes the move to secondary school. With a range of multi-activities across our UK activity centres, your 8–11-year-olds will be grouped with children their age, making the experience extra special.

11-13 year olds

Our Kid’s camps designed for 11-13-year-olds allow your children to explore their individuality, at a time when it’s most important. We offer a variety of multi-activity holidays designed to engage your children and introduce them to their peers. We can help your children explore their growing interests, whether that’s horseback riding, cooking, or even science.

13-16 year olds

In their transformative age of adolescence, our Kid’s camps designed for 13-16-year-olds are carefully crafted to introduce fun, excitement and adventure into your child’s life. Your children will return from a PGL adventure feeling invigorated, refreshed and ready to take on the world.

When are Kids' Camps running?

We offer a range of Easter, half term and summer camps for children aged 8-16. With lots of specialist and multi-activity camps to choose from, in camps located across the UK, choosing a PGL adventure has never been easier.

What information do I need to provide?

We need the parent or guardian details of each individual on Kid’s Camp as soon as possible, so we can send our ‘EGIF’ form. The ‘EGIF’ form provides us with all the information necessary for their camp, including:

  • Dietary requirements
  • SEN needs
  • Medical information

Once guardian details are received, each guardian will be sent a form to complete for their child.

Please note, it is a requirement of booking that all children are able to carry out their own personal care, although PGL staff will provide prompts at appropriate times.

By booking with us, you agree to complete all required paperwork for this camp to go ahead and understand that if it is not completed, the trip may be cancelled.

  1. To complete your booking we will require further information, this must be completed by the child’s legal guardian prior to travel.

I've booked, when will I receive further information?

Once you have confirmed your booking with us, you will receive your Provisional Booking Information, this will contain

  • Invoice statement to see your balance and when your deposit due
  • Next Steps and what further information we need from you
  • Important pre arrival information to pass to your accompanying adults/ parents

3 weeks before travel you will receive your Final Information; this will contain:

What is the accommodation like?

Our dormitory-style rooms accommodate 4–8 students and include en-suites. Rooming is based on age and gender. If your child is attending with a friend or sibling of the same gender and similar age, and you’d like them to share a room, please let us know as soon as possible. While we can’t guarantee it, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

What is the Tour Leader's role on centre?

PGL colleagues assume full responsibility for all children enrolled in this course. With loco parentis in place, children will attend independently without needing an accompanying adult. As a result, the role of a Tour Leader will differ from that in our other programmes.

The PGL colleagues’ role includes and is not limited to:

  • Managing and administering medicine as per the information provided on the EGIF
  • Looking after all aspects of physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Additional support in behaviour management
  • Time management for activities and meals
  • Management of phone access

Because the role of a Tour Leader is different on Kids Camp courses, please ensure they speak to the PGL Colleagues on arrival to confirm their responsibilities and interaction with the children.

Discipline and responsibility

The opportunity to engage and interact with peers is a vital aspect of the Kids’ Camp experience, and we strive to ensure that every child feels included. Each participant has an equal right to enjoy their time at camp, and we actively monitor for any instances of teasing, bullying, or other disruptive behaviours that may affect individual enjoyment. Based on our extensive experience, such issues are rare; however, we encourage children to communicate any concerns to their group leader or any member of our staff immediately.

When necessary, we will address behaviours that compromise the enjoyment of others with firmness and will not tolerate such actions. Our behaviour management system operates on a ‘levels’ framework; if disruptive behaviour persists or is deemed serious, the Kids Camp leader will speak to the Tour Leader who must help keep the child’s parents or guardians informed and confirm if they need to be involved to discuss appropriate next steps. Please be aware that there may be instances where we need to contact parents or guardians during non-standard hours, and PGL reserves the right to terminate participation in the camp if deemed necessary.

We request that the Tour Leader collaborates with our PGL staff to identify the most appropriate solutions, aiming to avoid premature departures from the camp whenever possible.

Can my child contact home?

When will children be able to contact their parents?

  • Children can have access to phones in free time: mornings before PGL sessions, evenings after sessions before ents, if older (13-16) there may be an opportunity after evening entertainments as well

If a child doesn’t have a mobile/cell phone, how and when will they be able to contact their parents?

  • Same as above, using a landline phone in their PGL centre
  • You should, if possible, arrange and book in a phone call in advance
  • Either your PGL Coordinator or your child can request this on centre using the phone in reception. The Tour Leader can assist to make this request.
  • Any follow up calls can be arranged during the previous call

Are the nationalities mixed?

We aim to mix the nationalities as much as possible. However, it is really important to note that due to Kids Camp programmes running at specific times of the year with limited spaces, there could be occasions where this is not possible due to the higher number of students from a particular nationality already booked in.

Can cash be withdrawn on centre?

PGL centres do not have cash machines or ATMs.

PGL centres will not exchange money.

Please ensure you arrange this either at the airport or before travel.

What are the drop-off and collection times?

Arrival day: Between 3pm and 5pm (first meal: dinner)

Departure day: Between 9am and 11am (last meal: packed lunch)

If you think you require additional meals, please contact your coordinator and we will try to accommodate this where possible. Please note there will be an additional cost for this.

What happens in the evenings?

Following on from a day of adventures, they will tuck into a delicious meal in our canteens. Then, it’s time for some more fun! In the evenings, they can compete in quizzes and games and sing songs around the campfire. On one evening, they might also be able to have a bit of a dance at our disco! It’s great fun.

My child hasn't attended a Kids' Camp before, what can they expect?

We welcome thousands of children each year embarking on their first PGL experience. With loco parentis is in place, our centre colleagues assume full responsibility of the children on a Kids Camp programme and therefore, children’s welfare is our biggest priority. We do everything possible to make your child feel safe and welcome at their chosen Kid’s camp. Our groupies are highly trained to help manage your child’s on-camp experience, with expert guidance during activities and support at all times, so they can feel settled and reassured in their exciting new surroundings.

What if we arrive late?

We understand travel can always have unforeseen delays so we have policies in place to ensure you will not miss your PGL meals, our offerings vary depending on the time you arrive, but something can always be provided.
